Timothy Scott

Timothy Scott graduated BA (Humanities) from La Trobe University, Bendigo with majors in Literature, Philosophy, Religious Studies, and Studies in Western Traditions. He was awarded his doctorate from La Trobe for his thesis, Symbolism of the Ark. He lived and taught Religious Studies in Düsseldorf, Germany, and Oxford, UK. He has worked as an editor in the preparation of the works of Ananda Coomaraswamy. He is a regular contributor to the Traditionalist journals Sacred Web, Vancouver, and Sophia, Washington DC.
His research focuses on the universal language of traditional symbolism with a particular focus on biblical symbolism and the mystical traditions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Since 2007 Timothy has been the editor-in-chief of Eye of the Heart: A Journal of Traditional Wisdom for the Philosophy and Religious Studies Program at La Trobe, Bendigo.
