Dr. Ibrahim Kalin received his Ph.D. from George Washington University in Washington DC. As a broadly trained scholar of Islamic studies, he teaches a number of courses on Islamic history and culture. Dr. Kalin has published widely on Islamic philosophy and the relations between Islam and the West, including Knowledge in Later Islamic Philosophy: Mulla Sadra on Existence, Intellect and Intuition; and Islam and the West, which won the 2007 Writers Association of Turkey award for best book. Dr. Kalin has lectured on contemporary issues in various parts of the world and traveled extensively in both the Islamic and Western countries. He was a faculty member at the Department of Religious Studies at the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, Massachusetts (2002-2005).
